Why your IoT temperature averages lie
Most consumer Zigbee sensors report on change, not on schedule. A naive mean() weights every sample equally, regardless of how much real time it represents. When a sensor spikes briefly, hundreds of clustered samples bias the monthly average by 2-3°C — invisibly.

HomeAssistant, Claude, Grafana MCP, and the ingress proxy that lied
Grafana running as a Home Assistant add-on serves its API under a hassio_ingress prefix, not at /api/. Every third-party Grafana client I tested assumes the latter and breaks silently with HTTP 200 + HTML. Workaround, diagnosis, and a couple of InfluxDB notes.
